The Fuzz Pedal: Beyond Overdrive or Distortion
The fuzz pedal is the classic sound of the 1960s and early 70s, but it is making a huge comeback today. Fuzz overdrive is more popular than ever for guitar solos and chords and many modern rock bands are using boutique fuzz pedals or vintage boxes to create a whole new texture to their sound.
The classic fuzz sound is the Fuzz Face. the originals were produced in England, but today several companies make Fuzz Face pedals including Jim Dunlop and Ernie Ball.
The Metal Muff is another vintage fuzz/distortion box that sounds great, and their are many other boutique fuzz pedals on the market today that are popular.
